Well, I haven't posted an update here in over 2 years. Oh well, such is life.

In the last few months, I've started playing with free-to-air satellite TV. I was given a 10 foot dish a couple years ago, which I finally decided to put up this spring. It has proven to be quite an entertaining diversion.

Anyway, after playing with analog and DVB-S, I decided to give the DigiCipher 2 format a shot, so I picked up a General Instrument DSR-4000 off Ebay for about $30. I have been unable to find any documentation for it at all, so I've compiled what I've figured out so far about how the thing works. I'm hoping that there are others out there who know more about it and could fill in some of the blanks.
